Most frequent questions and answers

For most of the programs offered at EAC, it is a requirement that you are a member at Genesis, as this is where all of our face to face programs take place. However, our online coaching program allows you to train at any facility that you see fit.

Of course! For anyone looking to join the ‘Elite’ team, we offer free consultations that go over your current lifestyle and overall goals. This helps us determine whether or not EAC is a good fit for you. A consultation doesn’t lock you into anything, think of it rather as a first date to see if you like what we have to offer.

This is completely dependant on the individual and their goals. Even some of the most elite level bodybuilders can get away with training 3 times a week; other have to put in up to 6 days of training in order to see the results. After signing up, your coach will establish the best training split suited to your goals in order to get you on your way to success in the gym.

The main difference between the two is their intention in delivering their service. There’s no doubt that 90% of trainers get into the industry because of their passion for fitness and helping others, but these personal trainers often get caught up in the financial side of the business. They will do anything they can to get you returning, in order to keep their hip pockets full. Coaches on the other hand, place a significant emphasis on educating clients, allowing them to learn what they need to do, so they can apply this by themselves. When your learning to swim, you don’t get thrown into the deep end without someone teaching you first do you? Let us teach you how to effectively train before you go off by yourself.

At this current point in time, the only program that has a group training component is our ‘Learn to Lift’ program. This is open to groups of two people maximum. Group training sessions give clients the benefit of longer sessions at a cheaper rate, to outweigh the slightly less personalised experience.

Personalised Programming is a term that gets thrown around a lot in the fitness industry. Trainers will often claim their programs are written up to your specific needs, and still manage to program a complete novice with a conventional barbell deadlift. Anyone with a basic idea of proper programming principles will cringe at the sight of this.

Your personalised program is determined by the information that you give us in our consultations, and your performance in training; your program is constantly changing. From the most basic information such as your goals / injury history, to your biomechanical movement analysis, you can trust that the program we prescribe isn’t one of those cookie cutter programs some trainers offer.

Different programs have different minimum commitment requirements based on the common goals of those that take part in that program. For example, building muscle is a timely process, it makes watching grass grow look interesting. This means our Aesthetics program will carry a longer minimum commitment compared to our Learn to Lift program, which ends when your coach is happy with your ability to perform safely. To see the minimum commitments of all our programs, you can learn more from the ‘Coaching Programs’ tab above.

Truth is, you won’t know until you try. This is why we encourage those that are interested in any of our programs to sign up for a free consultation.

Being a 24 hour facility, training sessions are at the complete discretion of coaches. These may begin as early as 6am, and conclude no later than 9:30pm.
